How to Highlight Your Achievements on a Resume

Posted by: admin - Category: Uncategorized

Your resume is your first impression to your potential employer. One cannot emphasize enough the importance of a well written resume in securing an interview and making yourself stand out from the rest of the crowd. Resume is the place where you want to brag about your prior accomplishments. It is very important to not only highlight your accomplishments in your resume but do it in a winning way.

Two golden rules of writing a winning resume are show the impact of your accomplishments and make your accomplishments forward looking. Many job seekers make the mistake of only highlighting what they have done in the past but do not give enough emphasis on how their work impacted the organization they were working in. The impact can be shown in different ways to show the ROI of your work.

You should write your accomplishments in a way which makes your skills appear to be transferable. You will show the impact of your skills and how they have helped the previous organization. In addition, you should show how you can use those same skills to cause a similar impact in any organization and particularly for the job position you are applying for.
